i bought a 77 chevy scottsdale 30 duelly truck with a 454 engine, for my daughter to pull her horse around town with. when i called a salvage yard about a starter for the truck, the guy said i should sell the motor out of the truck ,and get her something else a little nicer with the money because the motor is worth a lot of money, apparently they use them for race cars. my question is, what is a resonable reserve price to set on e-bay?

It's not worth enough to warrant pulling and replacing it. You'll spend alot more replacing it than You'll get selling it. The 350 starter is the same as a 454. Both have a 168 tooth flywheel.
