I'm driving a friend's 1993 K5 Blazer (2-door) that's in my car now. He's had it since new. I usually drive in 2H (2wd) with no problems. It snowed half a foot today, so I shifted into 4H and tried to sneak out of the driveway. No good. Went into 4L, still no good. Stuck! Finally got help getting the truck out. Drove around in 4H but slipped the rear out all the time. Flipped open the 13 year old manual and it says that the central transfer case shifter should light up orange when I am in 4H. It doesn't do this. I checked the fuses, tried shifting the transfer case while stopped and while moving slow and a bit quicker. No go. Any thoughts on where I should start? My local Chevy dealer is a complete rip off artist, so I'm weary of taking it in and getting a $2000 repair bill for a $50 part.

my 92 had the same problem. It ended up being the actuator in the front end. try jacking all 4 wheels up and putting it in gear and in 4WD if the front drive shaft spins and the wheels don't turn its probally the actuator i got one from GM 4 about 100 bucks good luck
