My AC in my 1999 1500 Silverado may have bit the dust yesterday. Blower blows at all speeds but it's not cooling. Does this sound like a compressor or could I be low on freon? Can you still check to see if the AC clutch is engaging?(Easier with 2 people - One watching / one turning on) Any help would be appreciated. Bernard

If the freon has leaked out the compressor will not engage due to a low pressure switch, this saves the compressor from damaging its self if the system leaks out. If you don't have the AC equipment to check the system theres not much you can do. And if you don't know how AC systems work you will not be able to diagnose the problum, therefor you should not try to fix it your self, you could injure yourself.
