I have a 2004 silverado 2500HD and I have the stock 6 speaker setup and I wanted to upgrade the headunit and the speakers but I don't want to haft to cut holes I just want to drop it in. So I need some advice on what to get. This might sound stupid but do they just make an upgrade kit from the factory or something like that. Thanks any help will do.

In a lot of instances, better aftermarket speakers can liven up your factory system. I put some new 6x9's in the front doors (JL Audio) before I upgraded the head unit in my 05 Dodge Ram. Afterwards, I added a sub box under the rear seat (Rockford Fosgate 10's with a Rockford Fosgate Amp). Even before I changed the head unit, it rocked pretty good. It's a major improvement. You shouldn't have to cut anything if you get the right equipment.

Hey man, what I would do is this... (If I wasn't lazy I'd look up the info for you. Sorry. :) Anyway, go to a site like www. crutchfield.com and do a search on what particular size speakers fit your truck. Then you can search for the different brands of speakers and what fits your budget. I have installed aftermarket sound systems in every vehicle that I have owned and let me tell you, you won't be sorry about the investment! Also, try checking with some local road shops where you live and ask them for advice. In my last truck (Dodge Ram) I used JL audio speakers in my doors. Just about anything by JL rocks!! But they are a little pricy. Also, chances are that you will also want to replace your head unit (stereo) as well and possibly consider an external amplifire depending on what speakers you choose and how loud you want it to be. Good luck to you!

Wes
