2005 tailights on a 2000 silverado

I just bought a pair of 2005 tailights of another silverado and I cannot install them into my 2000 silverado. There seems to be more lights in the 2005 model. I was told to buy a harnest for the lights but my cousin told me I dont need them. I really dont know what to do.... anybody have any ideas??

i`m new to this site.
i`m doing the same thing. i`m trying to install 2006 tail lights in my 2000 silvreado.

did you ever complete your conversion. what did you have to do?

Not sure exactly how to do it, but my buddy has '04 taillights on his '00. I can ask him next time I see him how he did it.

I've heard of this before and I know there is some minor mods required, and one of the lights is not used, not sure which one though. If you get through please post back, I'm thinking of doin the same thing.
