Hello! Was wandering the net looking for a busy chevy forum. I had joined one specific to the GM Vans, but there weren't many people and/or replies on it. So, here I am.

I am the proud owner of two older model GM vans- a 1991 Chevy G20 short WB conversion, and a 1989 GMC Vandura 2500 cargo van. The G20 has a 4.3, the Vandura has a 305.

The '91, affectionately nicknamed "Althea", has been my daily driver for awhile now, my work takes me all over the country and she's done wonderfully. Until this past Saturday when the engine seized up. (somehow the threads for my drain plug were stripped during the last oil change and I didn't know... So she's currently sitting on my yard awaiting a new motor, at 147,00 miles.

The other van, the '89 that I call "Boxcar Willie", is in rather sore shape body-wise (to the point that it would barely pass inspection even if I got the windshield fixed and new tires), but they had the engine replaced just before I bought it. It was my daily driver for a long time before I got the conversion (I wanted some comfort and to also not freak people out with a cargo van as my daily driver.), then sat on my yard with about 70 thou on the new engine. Only reason I haven't junked it yet is because of how it runs. The rest of the van has a solid 168,000 miles on it.

I'm a laid back kind of guy who just happens to love his vans, and GM in general (had an 88 buick century that somehow made it to 380,000 miles... loved that car.) music, playing guitar, and traveling. My job takes me all over the US, usually with the van, so I get a lot of windshield time doing what I love. I kind of have this whole gypsy wandering thing going on, and I get to do what I love. Here's some pictures of the two rides, Althea has had a lot of interior goodies added (New stereo, power inverter, laptop, etc.) and Boxcar Willie is currently a storage shed. Enjoy.
