I have a 350 engine and a 350 tranny.  The flexplate is a 12 3/4".  When I put the tranny on, I noticed that the torque converter mounting tabs went all the way to the edge of the flexplate where they would interfere with the starter.  The bolt holes lined up perfect on the torque converter and flexplate.  Has anyone heard of this?  Is it OK to trim them back or will that screw up the balance of everything?
