If your thinking about a custom kit think it's pretty involved just to get things to fit on a late model car. the Prefab kit would definatly be a lot simpler. If your time is worth money you'll save a lot of it by paying more for the kit.Ive done quite a bit of researce on turbos/superchargers for a ford focus project i'm working on and the super chargers are tried and proven but they take more power to make the same amount of boost that a turbo would make. so the turbo makes more power you can use becouse it takes less power from the motor to make boost the bigest draw back to a turbo is lag time but that isn't bad with the right sized turbo. The turbo is also more versitile with easily being able to change boost levels, and intercoolers to cool that hot compressed air.

I'f you do decide on custom turbo the most complicated thing is being able to properly tune the car for the right air fuel ratio and retard the timing.

on finding parts I would recomend JGS Precision turbo Summit Racing and possibly ebay but there are a LOT of rip off scams on the ebay but it is good somtimes for the flanges and piping fasteners

If you decide to go with a supercharger check into the centrifugal superchargers you can still add an intercooler easily for high boost
