what makes them different. is it easy to narrow a rear end. can i put limited slip in my diff. thanx

85 wrangler, what exactly do u mean by "what makes them different?". no they're not that easy 2 narrow. yes u can put a posi in your rear. (sure hope he don't take it the wrong way.)

doh! he's definatley gonna take it the wrong way now! ha! i'm just messin' with ya wrangler. how's the weather out there, any white stuff yet?

GM's 12 bolt is the strongest rear end they have.  Shortening of the axles should be done by professionals.  You have to get flush cuts on the tubes, cut and weld the mounts and have the axles custom cut and splined.  Yes you can convert an open diff into a posi or a locker.
