My cavalier has this problem, about once every 2 months or so. I will go to start the car, and I get nothing. No power, no clicking, absolutely nothing. The first time that it happened, I was going to have it towed, but the tow truck showed up, and the guy just pulled on the battery cables and thought they were loose. It started right up. I took it to the dealer, they checked everything, tightened some cables, and said it was fine. But that was a year ago. SO when this happens I usually disconnect the battery, let it sit for a few minutes, and then reconnect it. It usually starts up fine, and is good to go for a month or two. But the dealer refuses to look at it, I am tired of dealing with it. It is a 2002, with 90,000 miles, and everything else runs great.

Any thoughts?

do you know how to do a voltage drop test
if you do do one across the battery terminals

also do ur battery cables get tight to the battery
or are they loose
if loose and the bolt is tight
try putting a washer in there to snug it up for a quick fix

good luck

There is a little corrosion on the cables, but they have been cleaned before. I will try the voltage drop test. And maybe the washer on the battery cables.

Thanks.
