#1 Check to see if your break lights are working. The reason for this is ... the switch on the break pedal shaft not only turns on the brake lights but also part of the transmission interlock system. Modern vehicles won't allow the transmission to come out of park until the brake pedal is depressed. If the switch is misaligned , wires disconnected, or switch is malfunctioning ; the brake lights won't work plus the transmission won't be signaled that the brake pedal is depressed. #2 Parked on enough of an incline the "parking pawl" located inside the transmission may have too much pressure on it , making it difficult to get disengaged. If this the case you should fully engage the parking brake first before putting the vehicle into park. This will help relieve the pressure on the "parking pawl". When you want to drive the vehicle first step on the brake pedal , shift the vehicle into gear, then release the parking brake. #3 The shift mechanism may be misaligned.
