any hood from '73 up to '80 will fit. doesn't matter if it's a p/u or a Jimmy/Blazer or a 'Burb, they're all the same. someone once told me that GM changed the hood/fender's for the '80 model year only, but i can't see them doing this as the front end was changed in 1981 for the '81 to '87 p/u's ('91 for the SUV's). since u need 2 get rid of the cancer on your '76, replace the bolt on parts (hood/fenders/doors/etc...) with new pieces (GM or aftermarket). it's just not worth the hassle 2 try and fix rust on these panels that r easily replaced with currently available new aftermatket or NOS parts.

Great tips, thank you!! I guess ill take a run down to the auto wrecking yard tomorrow..

How about carpet? should I go to the upolstry shop and get a slab and cut it myself or buy a ready to install carpet kit? How much do carpet kits run? where should I look for it at?

Im going to take out the motor very soon, what are your thoughts on buying gasket kits, pistons ect.ect. everything that is needed to build a chevy small block motor ill need, my question is do you know a good place with good prices on the net for this stuff or should I just buy locally here in town? Id like to hear everyones opinions on what brands to go with as well. anything at all that will help me out id really like to hear. Id also like to get a nice set of headers, id like to hear suggestions, what should I run? where should I buy them at?

Guys, the more suggestions/tips/where to buy ect. you can give will really help me out. I will post pictures of my progress. It will be pretty cool. Im going to restore this whole 1976 K5 blazer so again any tips on where to buy stuff is really going to help, web links would be great!!

My buddy just bought a set of brand new Pro comp Xtreme wheels about a month ago, I think they are series 1079's 15X10's they also have the bead locks with them, they are mint condition, he also has a set of I think they are American Racing allow wheels 15X10 they are the ones you see on most trucks with the 6 holes, He said he would sell the new ones for $350 and just throw in the American Racing ones for free, is this a decent deaL you think? Ive never bought used wheels before so I dont know what they should sell for used.. I think this is the Pro comps he has.

dasanii19, if you're lookin' in wreckers for body panels, u probably won't find very many pieces around. as i mentioned earlier, if u r going 2 restore your ride, u really should invest $ in quality body panels that r rust free. believe me, the extra money spent on the part will be cheaper than the labour of fixing rust, because it will come back, and u don't want reapearing rust 2 ruin what may turn out 2 b a sweet K5. i'm not saying u can't find clean (rust free) parts @ a wreckers, i just think the trouble 2 find it may not be worth it.
as for performance parts why not try someone like Jeg's or Summit if u don't want 2 shop localy.
