hello, maybe somone can help me. I have a 95 s-10 pu and when you press on the gas it kills the motor, when you leave up on the gas it resumes to idle but idles high with a strong smell of gas fumes. It almost sounds like a gas/air mixture problem. I had it in to the shop a few times and they put new fuel injector lines in, a new egr valve, new oxygen sensor, new catalitic converter, air filter and still cannot fint the problem. If anyone could help me that would be great. It is the 4.3 vortec efi thanx

sounds very much like you have a vaccum leak,,maybe one of your vac hoses has a leak or the base plate of the carb,,this would cause your engine management system to make the assumption that your getting too much air,,in which case it would respond by increasing the fuel delivery causing your strong gasoline smell and increase in idle speed.
would also explain why you have difficulty getting it to rev up.
