Ok here goes....
Two days ago there was a bad flood and I stalled out in it. It was bad. Water in the intake tube poured out like a toilet flush. I took the spark plugs out and turned it over a little and pushed the water that was locking the cylinders from moving, so that freed that up. changed the plugs, changed the fuel filter (twice so far - hope its in the right way), changed the air cleaner (other was saturated - water was an inch deep in air cleaner tray). new distributor cap and rotor cause the old cap had thick junk on the terminals, took off the vacuum resevoir can and dumped the water. what else can i do, what else might have water in it?

somery; i hate 2 state the obvious, but i sure as hell hoped u dumped your oil, changed the filter and poured in some fresh stuff, B4 u fire it back up.
it would B a good idea 2 change your pcv as well-u don't want any trapped water (in the valve itself) getting back into the engine. it sounds like u covered everything else that would need 2 b changed ( unless your gas cap was off, i can't see how any water would get into your fuel system-but it always pays 2 have a clean fuel filter) good luck.

Thanks for your interest! I am a late email reader, sorry. Anyhow, I have had and am having a bad experience with all of this. Other systems are affected by this water too. My brakes, the left side is not braking or not well, so i veer to the right when i hit the brakes. My steering was erratic, but that went away : P My rear differential, no doubt, has water in it. My transmission oil has a black residue on the dipstick, that I take as water mixed in, but i never had a leak before, don't know how water got in? The initial problem I had was the engine would stall. A friend came over and we ended up taking off the top of the carbeurator while the body was still connected by the hoses. Airhorn or whatever it is called? There were chunks of sediment floating around the fuel bowl and when we used an old baby booger sucker sueeze thingy that we used to have (you know, you sqeeze it and let go and it sucks up whatever the end is in, like a baster) and used it to suck out the jets and stuff. Put it all back together and it ran nice! It was a little rough cause we didn't take it completely apart and rebuild. After this though, while the air cleaner was off and poured SeaFoam engine cleaner down the choke plate holes in the carb and the rest in the tank and now it runs like a top! except for the brakes

it runs better than it did before cause i also unneedingly replaced the distributor cap and rotor (did i mention i did the plugs?) and i also took the vacuum resevoir can and dumped the water out of it, which was only a little, because the engine must have drank it already. A little water the engine can burn off, its when its filled full with water, it can't move. I am extremely lucky i didn't blow a piston when the cold water went in to meet a raging hot piston! well somery, i hope after all this work your truck runs like new again. with the other things u noticed(black residue in the trans, possible water in the diff.), i sure hope u do a trany service before driving it (or at least get it done now if you've already drove it), and change the gear oil in the diff. too, just 2 b safe (since u really cant see if there's any water sitting on the bottom of your housing)-hold on, here's a thought, remove the fill plug from the diff. and check 2 see if, 1st. anything flows out when u remove it (water will push the oil out), and 2nd. check the color of the oil, water mixed in with the gear oil will turn it into a milkshake like goo (definitely not a thing u want 2 see). good luck, and glad 2 hear your truck is running better.
