Not sure if you put these speakers in but I have a Crew Cab and man...what a pain in the tooooshy. I bought some speakers from Crutchfield and thought this would be a breeze. First, they recommended 6.5" speakers and i assumed that they should be a drop in fit. Man, Chevy has these "custom" speaker brackets and the 6.5"s do not fit these at all. I tried every position available with no avail. Then i used the Crutchfield mass produced custom brackets and they were a bigger hassle. In the end i had to jury rig the speakers in and was not happy with the install, but the speakers are secure and they DO sound better than stock. Hopefully you have a better experience than i did. I have installed speakers in 2 hyundai accents, a tiburon, saturn sl, caravan, maxima, and pontiac fiero. I never had this much trouble. Love the truck though. Good luck.

i've installed a set of front door speakers in my z71 after the speaker blew with 5000 miles on the ode. simple install, pull door panel,if equipped with power windows watch the control block drivers door ,the tab holding it broke on mine.anyway, a couple screws latter a plug and they fall right out. i stuck a set of Cadence 6.5" had to remove the grilles but the fit is awesome. good luck.i havent done the xcab doorsyet but stuck a boxed pair of 12's behind the seat.nice choice for a head unit .
