will HID's melt OEM fog light housing in 02' silverado????

i called my HID distributor today and he told me that i cant have a plastic fog light housing with hid's because hes worried the housing may melt and i've done so much research and i havent got any feeback from anyone thats tried to do the same thing i want to do but ive got mixed knowledge on HID's in general. some people are saying the housing will melt, and others are saying i have nothing to worry about at all. ANYONE with ANY knowledge about this PLEASE reply to this thread im dying to get this project going!!!!

I had HID's in my headlights and foglights for a couple of years with my Ford F-150, no problems. Im pretty sure Fords housings are plastic.
