I'm wondering because my vette has a set of ugly aftermarket wheels on it, and I'd love to replace them with a more factory-like wheel, but I don't really want to spend a lot of money on it, right now. Could a set of 15" wheels from something like an 80's camaro fit on my vette?

Thanks, Dave

You'd have to pay particular attention to the back spacing. A lot of "Chevy" rims will rub on the calipers.

We had that problem on a C3 in the shop at school last year, he had bought replacement wheels that looked just like the originals, but they would hit the calipers ever so slightly.  We just stuck a washer on each wheel stud and put the rim back on.  Spaced them off far enough to keep them from touching.

Voicing my opinion,.....
I wouldn't use any spacers. The stress involved on the centers of wheels are enhanced when the rims don't fit flat on the mating surfaces as they were designed. If you have a trailer queen, go for it, but,......I like to drive the twisties and don't want to worry about rim failure due to something I may have adapted in order to get a "pretty look". My advice is to keep looking and find something you like, but also is safely functional.
There are a lot of choices out there.

BTW, I have gone to the stock steel rally wheels, since finding a crack in one of my mags.
So, I'm on the hunt for some rims too.

These are the ones I am concidering,....

Ditto on not using spacers.

C3, those will look good on the Starship.

To disclaim my point above, that suggestion was meant to reinforce what you said about replacement wheels not fitting right!
Sorry if I was a little vague on that... I really don't condone the use of washers. lol

Hey Euro,....we're cool.
I've done some really "Bubba" things, and just passin' along some advice as an alternitive to Bubba-ization. I won't say I have never used spacers, just don't do it any more. Used to race roundy round, and lost wheel centers. Not fun, but wow, what a learning experiance.  I got a whole list of things "not to do".
Ya just can't beat doin' it right.

Gotcha on that. It was just something mainly to get the man home without damgaing his calipers further.

Never Jerry-rig (sorry if there are any Jerrys out there) anything permanently!
