Hi there.... been driving an Avalanch for the past 2 years - wet and leaky years. GM is giving me a buyback/reselect and I chose a 2007 Tahoe LT (3LT).

Last week I got my wife a 2006 Honda Civic EX with Navi system. I'm sold on it. I want one. BAD!!

I saw one on eBay - for a 2007 Tahoe with Bose. That's what I am looking for. Unfortunately, I didn't have a definate 'yes' about the Tahoe at the time so I couldn't bid on it.

That being said.... does anyone know of a place/site where I can get my hands on a Nav radio for a 2007 Tahoe?? I'll get the antenna, CD, and camera elsewhere (if needed), but I'm really jonesin' for this and want to put it in as soon as I pick up the new truck.

Please be honest - if there's no way I can get one (under $1000) say it.

Thanks!!

Jeff.

Why not go aftermarket?

Most are feature-wise ahead of the factory pos

In all honesty, I am looking to keep all of the overall functionality of the steering wheel controls and Bose system the same... I also want to keep the appearance to be as 'factory' as possible. I also don't want to spend a lot of $$$ if I can help it.

Besides eBay.... I've seen them pop up on eBay rarely and am looking for another place to get it other than from a dealer.

That is cheaper than it is stock from GM by a long shot.

Can anyone tell me what aftermarket navigation/dvd unit will play dvds while driving (for the wife) and also be able to still use my steering wheel controls?

Thanks,

xclusive,

If I go with one of those aftermarket dvd units it will still control my factory rear dvd? Are you saying I put the dvd in the aftermarket unit and it will show the picture on the rear dvd and the front aftermarket screen in the dash?

no u will have to use the dvd player on the overhead. i believe ZX gave the wiring schematic and colors of the video cable in another thread so u would have tap into those to get the dvd in the front to play on ur overhead...

At this rate, a map might be better.

Two weeks ago there was a Nav for an 07 Tahoe that sold on eBay for $550 (final price). I'm looking for a deal like that.

There was a rear dvd, navigation combo on ebay that was priced at 1600 or best offer on ebay. It just ended earlier tonight with an offer of 1200. Kind of pisses me off because I had emailed that seller the first time it was listed without a purchase and the seller said they wouldnt take less than 1450. Yet today, they accepted 1200! GRRRRRR!

The factory overhead/flipdown works great with an aftermarket unit (mine is a Kenwood 6019 with G510 nav, also XM unit with nav traffic. Also added Kenwood ccd900 backup camera). Also the steering wheel controls work excellent with the Kenwood providing you purchase the PAC adapter. You will loose none of the controls. I also was able to patch into the A/V input in the center rear console.

I'm a happy camper now and can do more than the factory setup. I also forgot to add that I installed the new hideaway Kenwood TV unit. Gosh this new unit is awesome. The antennas are traces on the window that you can barely see. I placed both on the rear window. As you can see the factory radio antenna traces are on the other rear window. The factory traces are huge and ugly.
