The bed of my 96' S10 has the pointed flares and step bumper, but i didn't think the trailer hitches i saw would work. They all look like there for the ones with a smooth bumper and step all the way across. But mine has the dip in the center, and i was worried if the hitch i get will bend down low enough to clear the bumper. i looked at reese, draw tite, and hidden hitch. So if someone has ran into the same thing please let me know what kind you have and style if possible?

They will work. Just make sure you have the correct model for a 96.

I found one through pep boys, for my 94' (the truck had just a bumper ball hole) although it was rated, I bought a $120 class III and Pepboys installed it for free (I later discovered its an easy DYI - bolts on the frame bolts) - then I just bought a 4-wire "crimp" on for lights to existing brake/blinker. as your other responder stated, just get the right year/model

Back from the dead! kbrown, did you ever find a hitch that worked?

I've been looking for something sturdier than what I got from the factory design. Do you know of any heavy-duty's?
