What is the large 30amp A.I.R. system fuse for?
I looked in my owners manual and all it says is, "A.I.R. system" Can't find anything else on it.
I have the fuse out, and the AC works great.

AIR = Air Injection System
I don't know why it's not AIS. It is sometimes called AIS. Its function is to reduce emissions. Has nothing to do with the vehicle A/C system.

Chances are your truck isn't even equipped with the A.I.R system, depending on the year of your truck.
The fuse block comes equipped with all fuses pre-installed for production at the assembly plant and the A.I.R fuse is in place even though only California Emission vehicles actually have the system installed.

Thanks, I have a 2000 Z71 4x4 and live in Georgia.
I looked under the hood and found what looks like a pump, belt driven, that has a hose going into the intake just behind the throtle body, and the other hose goes to the passenger side exhaust manifold. I have always wondered what that A.I.R. system fuse was for and just found this forum.
