My 89 Silverado has a 400 turbo . The transmission shop said transmission is fine but it's not getting the signal of when to downshift. He didn't know why. I could probably take it to another shop that knows a little more, but I thought I would give this a try first. thanks.

Welcome to the forum!!! Probably a bad wire, if there is not a mechanical linkage.
