hello hey my name is chris and i have a 1997 chevy suburban. i am having problems with the shifting, drive does not grab right away, it take until about 20 mph then it kicks in just fine. 3rd gear is starting to slip a little too. so is there any chevy guys that would know what this would be. i was thinking that it might be the tourq converter, but i am not sure, so can any one help with this. please. i would also like to know if any one out there has a 460le for sale at a good price.

well if anyone can help with this i would appreceatie it. sorry for the spelling.

I just had the same problem. Replaced the torque converter and didn’t make a difference. After the 3rd time removing and trying new things I took it to the dealer. I had about 145,000 on it and they said that it should be replaced. I asked about rebuilding it and they said its possible but at that many miles it should just be replaced. Sadly it cost roughly 4k.....but I got a 100,000 mile warranty. Better than sitting on the side of the road.

No wonder dealerships can afford to have such nice buildings and huge expensive newspaper and tv ads.
