My blazer has high milage. First I wanted to know how many quarts of transission fluid will it take to change it? Just to know I am going to drop the pan and put on a new filter not try and get it all out of the torque converter. My next question is I have heard horror stories of changing the transmission fluid at high milage because the fluid has all the clutch material in it. Is this a myth or reality, and should I change my fluid at high milage?

No, its very good for it to get rid of that contaminated fluid. If you are dropping the pan, it should take no more than 6 qts. Make sure the metal ring that comes on the end of the filter comes down with the filter when you change it.

How is the best way to get the fluid to the right level on the dip stick? I usually always go under or over.

There is not really an exact science to it.

Oh Okay thanks for the information. Do you know if it will hurt it if it is over or under filled by a little? I am going to try my best to get it perfect but incase.
