tail light tint

hey, i am trying to tint my tail lights, and i needed a few suggestions. i have looked up a lot of techniques, including VHT Nite Shades, window tint, and even, TesTors model window tint. i tried the window tint thing, but i had to use Wal-Mart 35% tint. i got it on my reverse light, but the countour of the actual brake light, the countour was too advanced. i have wathed so many vids on it and just can't seem to get it right. does anyone know how much it would cost to get this done at a tint shop? is there a way to make vht look glossy and not so dark? and does this testors stuff work? and feedback would be great.
