I'm about to buy an Uplander, but I can't decide between All Wheel Drive (AWD) and Stabilitrak (you can't get both). My location gets a fair amount of rain, and some snow, so either would be useful. Can anyone point me to any reviews that specifically compare the differences between these?

stabiltrak uses your ABS to keep the vehicle going straight in case of sever cornering, AWD is what it says AWD, more for snow, wont help much in abrupt steering situations, that is where Stabilitrak will help...Jeesus ask your salesman to tell you the differences, stabilitrak will apply brake to the oppisite side of the vehicle when it skids, think TANK or TRACTOR  you dont have to tell it tho, as your Van skids to the right it will apply brake to the left side rear to help correct the skid.........AWD is.....well AWD, trasfers power to whichever tire has grip....sounds to me like stabilitrak would work better for you.  AWD is more for here in the North in Canada northern states where lots of snow is expected.

for rain and hydroplaning Stabilitrak will help you more
