Can anyone tell me what this hose is? 96 5.7 it goes into the intake and the fitting is leaking bad but none of the manuals I have tell me what it's for. The pics are taken looking at the driver's side of the engine. Pretty please help!

Can't see the pics, but it is probably the coolant bypass hose.

ZX1100F1....thanks for at least replying...was having problems with the pics but I'll attach them to this reply. What would cause water to spue out of where this hose goes into the intake by the thermostat housing? No weeping from water pump, heater was still working. For no apparent reason after leaving the gas station from filling up and reentering the hwy I started leaving steam behind me like crazy. Took it to a service station and they told me the intake manifold gaskets (2) were gone and it would cost $800 to fix. I didn't buy this and limped my poor hoe home with the rad cap undone because I started losing water faster than I could keep it in the rad. Engine was heating up to 213* celsius and normal sits around 190. Know anything about this kinda thing??
