I just purchased a new silveraldo this week.  I am having issues with the xm radio playing local stations.  Cant really get any local fm ar am broadcast.   If any one has any serious info haw about lettin me know.

Do you have an antenna mast on the truck? I have seen 3 trucks in the last year where the dealer forgot to put it on when they were preparing the vehicle for delivery

thanks for the fast reply,  i have what i think is a mast, its about the size of a cigeratte pack on the top.  xm works but as i said no locals.  How hard is it to correct??

Welcome to the forum!!! If the mast is there then it maybe an disconnected wire somewhere. Sorry, haven't delt with the newer silverado's so I can't say for sure.

Looks like the gov would do something for the people and mandate hydrogen powered vehicals in 15 yrs lets say..   I would bet the oil companies would drop the price then,.

There should be an antenna mast on the passenger side fender for the AM/FM.  The one on top is XM only.

hehe....just re-read the post. XM radio covers all of north america and does not have local channels. They only have genre specific channels. The closest you'll get to anything local is if you live in a large city where they carry traffic and weather. If you want to listen to local channels, you'll have to tune to either AM or FM to get them
