hmm..that would be interesting. things that i have read stated that the firebird would not be coming back, and the GTO would be the "other car" on the new camaro's zetalite platform.

I know the Camaro is supposed to be coming back, I had not heard anything about the Firebird. This could be interesting.

GM needs to get back in this " Pony Car " pretty darned quick if They're going to any success at beating back the competition. Why is Ford always on the ball when it comes to hitting this market so well? Is it because the invented the idea back in 1964? I'm a Chevy guy through and through but I just don't get it. Even Dodge is going to kick GM's butt on this one with the new Hemi Challenger ( Whick may be the baddest of the type ) GM needs to get on Their game. Stip making the weirdo EXTREME designs that will appeal to 1 or 2 percent of the buyers and bring out a Camaro and Trans Am that will kick butt and sell. Soften that design ( Camaro Concept ) and put the Z06 428 - 505 HP engine package in and be done with it. Nothing would touch it except a Z06 "vette or a Viper and for at least half the price. Yes, it would cost 40 grand, but it would sell because it was the baddest on the planet. That's what success is. Sure, make a milder version for the masses ( Comfortable and appealing ). Don't make the same mistake that caused the demise of the last version. It lost all focus on the mainstream buyer. The cars were uncomfortable and harsh riding. Make a version for the racer types, but don't ignore Your core buyer. Ford is a monster when it comes to marketing the Mustang, so why try to buck the system. GM - Please don't lose this market. It spawns more buyers in more areas. If a Guy buys His College student or High school daughter or Son a Camaro or Firebire that They really love, You'll have a Dad that buys His wife a GM minivan and Himself a Truck. He'll tell a friend and so and so on. This is how the system works. Get that market back. Ford is kicking Your Butt. Look at the latest numbers. The Toyota Tundra is outselling the Silverado. Whats up with that? GM - You're losing it and it's a sad, sad day that an American buyer would rather drive a Toyota truck rather than a Chevy. Geez, Maybe Japan really did win that war after all. GM's marketing sucks and with the cat eyed pickups, They really went out of their way for UGLY. Don't do it to the Camaro and Firebird. put Yourself back at the Head of the Class instead of being a Copycat. Do it with style, not a bizarre vision that people have to really try to like and " get Used to it ". Make Them look at it and say " WOW " like They used to, not "UGH ", maybe I'll get used to it. Be Classy and Stylish, not bizarre. Enough said. thanks for listening.
