Hi all,
Thought I would Introduce myself. I bought a 1 ton rusty 84 gmc dump and found your site while looking for info.
I am going to be 41 next month, raise exhibition poultry and black angus beef cattle. I have had Chevy`s since I was teenager. Had a really nice 70 nova we restored back in 83, sold it when I went in the service, wish I had it now. 327 325hp. I bet alot on here have said the same thing. That was my nicest gm product. I also had a 69 camaro, 70 olds cutlass s with a 455, Inherited dads 72 c20 pickup in 85, 350 4spd, he bought new. Wish I had that back also, lol. Now I have an 89 s10 that I use for silage for the cows and I just bought an 84 gmc k3500 with 350hd/4spd, dump body, fisher plow. It had 54k original miles, has a rusty cab like most do but runs good and should fit my needs around the farm nicely. My plan is to give it a quick restore now, Replace and repair rusted parts and in a few years restore it it right.
I would restore it properly now but we just found out officially today that my wife is pregnant so toys are on hold for now, glad I bought it before we found out, lol. I am still in shock, My first kid at 41 any advice??? I will be asking some technical questions in the main forum. Take care, John

Welcome and congrats on the child. I can't imagine a child at 41. Sounds like you are already a busy man.

Thanks for the welcomes and congrats. I haven't had a chance to work on the truck yet but have been pricing sheet metal and prices seem reasonable. Any suggestions on places with best prices? We are adjusting well to the the baby news. We have been telling family and friends and have been getting alot of shocked reactions but they all have been happy for us. We have decided to wait till the birth to find out if its a boy or girl. Its funny most people want to know ahead of time. I think not knowing is a big part of it. I will be happy with either but I have a feeling its a boy. Thanks again for the welcomes. Take care, John

Welcome and congrats!!! One place you may want to look is at LMC trucks, they usually have body panel premade so its just a matter of cutting and welding the new one in it place. And I think JC Whitney also has some body panels.
