I have a 2004 Silverado and it came with a factory am/fm cd stereo.I considered changing the factory head unit but really wanted to keep it stock.I purchased a like new factory am/fm cd 6 disc changer and installed it ,at first it worked but I turned the power off then back on and the radio locked.It's the rds radio with theftlock.Is there any way to unlock this type of radio without going to a dealer and paying $65.00 just to get it unlocked ? I hate to pay that much to unlock it when I got the radio for $100.00.

Unless You have the Code to unlock it, You may not have any choice.

with the rds radios the only way is to take it to a dealer....
