So what kind of amp can i use? Any help is greatly appreciated.  Have had bad experiences with aftermarket amps..... Well the ppl who installed it so im kind of skeptical about it....... But want the navigation so its an exception for this

There are several threads on this subject.  Try doing a search.  The factory Nav comes in 2 part number numbers - one for rear factory DVD and one without.

Has anyone installed the Pioneer AVIC Z2???? Weere you able to retain your XM radio, steering control buttons, Onstar, and ive also heard that you lose your rear assist parking sensor???? Can anyone clear this up for me before I go out an buy the AVIC Z2.

I believe the . . . 66 is the DVD version and the . . . 67 is without.

To install the Avic-Z2 you'll need a few extras to complete the job.  You'll need a mounting kit for the dash, Best Kits #BKGMK317.  You also need the Onstar/Vehicle interface PAC OS-3 (for non-bose, OS-3BOSE for the Bose system), this interface also retains your parking assist sensors, there's also a few other companies that make this interface.  To retain the steering wheel controls you need interface Peripheral PESWIPS.  And if you want to keep your XM, you need to buy Pioneer's XM reciever, GEX-P920XM, but you can still use the antenna thats mounted to the tahoe.

Hope this info helps.  The Avic-Z2 is a great unit, I've had it for about 6 months now and have no complaints.

ntitan06,

sorry, I don't have any pictures yet.  My 08 Tahoe is still on order, but I have all the parts here waiting for her.  My Z2 is currently in my 06 F150 right now.  I do have a photo of the Z2 in an 07 Avalanche which has the same interior as the Tahoe.  I'll try to attach it here.

Picking up a 07 suburban ltz tomorrow that has the factory dvd.  I was wondering if I got the AVIC-Z2, if anyone knows if I will be able to control the rear factory dvd from it, and also if the oem backup camera will work with this Nav unit?  Thanks
