What level settings did you use?  Did you go to the ones requiring premium?

Do you know if the tow settings are just active when in the tow mode?

i used the 87 octane program i now there is alot more i can do with this but i really just wanted to get rid of the throttle lag and let me tell you IT DID!!!!!!
5.3L=18.7hp and 17.3 ftlbs of torque to the wheels on 91 octane.
as far as the towing mode im not really sure if i remember it's somthing like 11 more pounds of torque??????

Jeff,
What kind of Gas ileage were you getting before you did the Chip Change?
I've got a 96 Tahoe with the stock 16" Wheel/Tire and I'm getting around 24 MPG, which is basically twisting Mountains and 2 lane highways.
I'll be switching to 20" Wheel/Tire combo soon.
Does the larger size degrade the mileage THAT much?
(not that it would change my mind from upgrading to 20')!

im getting 12.5 mpg right now and thats with 24'wheels intake and exhaust!  the main reason i got the sc is for the recalibration of the wheels because i think that is what was effecting my mpg

Dont expect a MPG increase with the superchips.  HOwever, the performance is well worth the price!  I only paid 300 for a brand new one!

Does the superchip void the warranty ?

any factory service that you need you actually remove the sc program it takes about 5 min. ,once out the dealer can't detect any modification.

OK -- then does the MPG decrease with the SC??

I honestly cant give a good opinion of what it does to MPG.  I programmed my superchips at the exact time I put 24's on.  However, i have had 3 flashpaqs now and I never saw a noticable increase, or decrease in MPG.  Driving conditions vary to much to get a good idea I think.

Shark, yours is stock maybe you can give some info on your MPG after adding the superchips.

Don't be fooled into believing that "once out the dealer can't detect any modification".

The ECM stores a lot of information and if they are suspicious or get snoopy it can be found out, however it is rare that a warranty denial will result.

My dealership's service manager actually recommended I purchase a Superchips when he realized that GM didnt have a 24" wheel/tire update.

I installed the Superchip on my '07 Tahoe w/ 2500 miles.  After the next 2500 with chip in, I was getting .9 mpg better.  Oh, and I use
Super Unleaded (92 octane).

Well I just went with the base program so far but haven't done any hwy miles yet.  Didn't see any change in town.  Of course it was done during our coldest part of the winter so hard to draw a comparison.  When I get the new cat back on, I plan to do some testing since the Superchips has data acq now.  Also have a GtechPro that I haven't used yet.  Something about finishing the master bath remodel.

ZX-  I recently took my Tahoe in to service to only fix some cosmetic issues.  While my tahoe was with the service dept they updated/changed my Tahoe's computer..... thus I am now unable to remove the performance adjustments that were made from SC because it no longer recognizes my Tahoe. Is it possible to have the service department reprogram the Tahoe's computer back to original stock settings?  Thanks

Are you saying your stock programming is still loaded into the programmer?  If so, then yes you have a useless programmer unless you can get sc to reflash it.

This folks is why you ALWAYS program back to stock before heading to the dealership, even if it for something simple like an oil change.

thkwolf,
Superchips, can reprogram it for you.  You will need to contact them.  If you have to mail it in prepare to be without it a while.  They are super slow.  However, they might be able to hook you up via the internet and your USB cable!

I spoke with SCs.  At first my programmer would not recognize my Tahoe....I called SCs, faxed them a copy of the Dealer workorder to show what they had reprogrammed.....SCs sent me a file to upload to my programmer to put my programmer back to stock.....NOW my programmer sees its old adjustments on my Tahoe's computer and will not adjust the computer because of the previous modificatons....it know the Tahoe is not stock.... GRRRR Damn dealership.....So my programmer is back to stock but my Tahoe is not....  So I need to get me Tahoe back to its stock settings so I can start over.

I did not think to put the Tahoe back to stock before the dealership visit since I was only having cosmetic work done.....It is not like they have ever gone above and beyond before with doing anything that was not asked/begged of them....  Unfortunately...NOW I know.
