I am having a problem with my 02 chevy 2500 hd abs brakes. when I go to brake, the brake pedal pulsates. It does not matter if I am on a dirt road or pavement, doesn't matter what the weather is (could be sunny!) and I don't have to be going fast like you normally would to feel the abs brakes to come on when you slam on them. And it doesn't happen every single time. There is no abs light on at all. Had the mechanic look at it and drive it...can't find anything wrong with it.

I am having the same issue with my 2001 Chevorlet Silverado 1500 extended cab 4x4. 5.3 V8 Vortec.

I've had the low speed sensor replaced with a new one and had new tires put on. This did not fix the problem.

When you feel the brake pedal pulse ... do you hear the ABS actuator engage ?

I have the same issue with my '01 Silverado 5.3liter 4x4. The ABS motor cycles 80% of stops but no light is on in the dash.

The only time the ABS light would be on if there were a problem with the sensor circuit or the ABS motor/pump system.
Having the ABS come on is not that uncommon. It can be caused by wrong tire inflation , wrong size tires , wheel hop while braking , sloppy wheel bearings , dirty or broken teeth on the reference ring , loose sensor pickup , etc.

Go to www.car.com, there you will find a re-call for that problem. The dealers will make the repairs. I think at no cost to you. This re-call was back in 2005, campaign # 05v379000, You can call chevrolet at 1-800-630-2434 for more info.
I hope this helps all of you
