Is it possible to change out this panel on an 05 Impala? Mine is the translucent black color...I've seen some that are a solid color, I don't know if this is just a specific year that they did this, or is it possible to change out the panel with another one. I just like the looks of a solid color more.

It is possible to "change out" the panel, if it needs replacing, But what your talking about, does not fall in that bracket. There are three ways, that I know of, to do what you are talking about.
#1. they make plastic or fiberglass panels, that cover it, that are painted body color.
#2. they make vinyl stick ons in differant colors, to cover it, or
#3. you could do what I'm going to do. Very carefully tape off the circles, (tail and reverse lights) and tape off the side markers (in the tail lights) Sand them good, and paint them body color, hope this helps!

Thanks for the help. I'm thinking about going the route of using the "LS Sport Covers"...the factory panels made to specifically do what I want, simply cover the stock panel. I didn't realize this is how it was done, but I'm glad I found out.
