Hello all, my best friend was recently invovled in a tragic accident. Im asking for everybody to please pray for him and his family. His name is Brandon, he is 26, husband, father of 3 and a professional firefighter with the Houston Fire Dept, Houston, TX St. 18.  He was recently fighting a routine house fire when there was a structural roof collapse. The collapse knocked the regulator off his facepeice (the hose attached to the mask that allows him to breath inside a superheated smokey atmosphere) He was knocked unconcious and seperated from his crew and trapped. They sent in a rescue team, but found him unconciuos and not breathing. They were able to revive him enroute to the trauma center. He suffered severe burns to his upper and lower airway and his lungs as well as severe smoke inhalation. He has been is the medical intensive care unit, intubated, on a ventilator, for two weeks. Although he is showing some improvments, his wife and I and his family believe it is because of his strong will to live and peoples prayers. He has served in one of the busiest districts in one of the largest cities in the United States, as a Firefighter/Paramedic for 5 years, lets help him and show him some support. I know money is tight for alot of people, but if anyone wishes to donate anything to his family, a link to an account has been set up for him to help with the ungodly amount of expenses at www.local341.org His name is Brandon Everette. Media coverage can be read at http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5501650.html and at http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/metro/5507460.html for those intrested. Thanks guys!

For the ONE member who cared to write something, his condition is improving and they were able to remove his intubation tube and take him off life support. Thanks Brent for your prayers! I thought there were more Christians in this forum, im a little suprised. Its sad that it got several hits, but only one cared enough to leave a comment......

Its good to hear he is improving.

You can't expect an answer immediately on the forum. I've made posts in the off-topic section that have gone a week or two with only 4-5 hits.

Thanks ehhget. My point was, at the time it had several hits, and only one comment. People were reading it, then going on about there business. But I guess this really isnt the place for that kind of subject matter. I dunno.

I will keep him in my prayers also.  I don't get on here much but I will get on more to keep up with how he is doing.  I was a professional firefighter with the city of Myrtle Beach, and a volunteer as well.  I know the dangers and stresses of his job.  We all should be thankful for what he does, and remember him in our prayers!

He's at home, taking one day at a time, going to physical therapy. He's got a long road to recovery, but hopefully he'll be back to normal and able to return to work. Thanks for asking!!
