Hey folks, new here, ran across this site and figured I'd see if you guys could give me some insight as to whatis wrong with my truck.
I have a 1999 Silverado 4x4 - 5.3 v8 - 327
Last week I was driving along where I started to get terrible hesitation during accelaration. So bad to where the truck started to just shut off, then get terrible mis fires. Eventually I changed the filter and it didn't do anything so I brought it to a garage and they diagnosed it as a bad fuel pump. Changed the pump and it ran fine for a good 300 miles. Now it has started again, just not as severe this time. Any idea, what my troubles could be?
Upon acceleration it steps on itself, and sputters, although it hasn't left me stranded yet, I feel road-side problems will occur in the near future.
By the way, service engine light is not on.

It still might be a bad fuel pump. I put a new one in My '96 Tahoe and it quit after 100 miles. Did They change the Fuel pressure regulator as well? It may be that. Welcome to the forum.

Could there be trash in the fuel tank clogging up the fuel pump? I suggest that you replace the fuel filter, and check the filter.

My bad - I should have mentioned it to begin with.. I did change the fuel filter, prior to changing the pump. Fuel pressure regulator was not changed.

have you checked the catalytic converter? my brother's s-10 did that before he replaced the catalytic converter
