Hello everyone. I need some help I just put a new motor is my chevy caprice 305. 2dr landel, rebuilt crate motor. The previosus owner blew the motor and I got the car for cheap so I decided to replace the motor and now when I come to a stop around 5 mph the car''s transmission seems to be delayed. It hits kinda hard and on take off the motor seems to sputter arout 5 to 10 mph. If I jump on the accerleration the sputter doesn''t happen. Around 100 miles on the motor I decided to take the car for a 45 mile drive and on incline the car''s check engine light came on and when I got to my destination and let the car cool off it started up and no check engine light. It seem to only happen when the car gets hot around 30 to 45 mins of driving is when all these problems start to occur. I had the check engine light come on again and had a read out of what the problem is and here is the code # 53 (EGR CONTROL) I replaced the ERG but the problem still occurs. ( leaking,restricted or improperly routed vacuum line:egr valve stuck or leaking,poor electrical connection,open or short circuit:defective egr solenoid:defective ERG. Please help me out with this problem. I would really appreciate it.
