It takes about 5-10 seconds to start the engine. It is much better now that I replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator.
2001 Silverado 4.8 57,000 miles
no engine codes
replaced the following:
fuel filter
fuel pressure regulator
EGR valve
plugs
wires
Anything that I am missing?

fuel pump relay. This could be your problem. If the relay is out, the engine will start, but only after the oil pressure comes up to (I think 4 psi) from the engine cranking.
