gas pedal feels kinda "scratchy"

i own a 2000 Impala LS. When I got my foot on the gas, I can feel kinda like a "scratchy feel" to it. I let my buddy drive it and he said he also felt it, he told me that maybe it was the wheel bearings were goin bad. Any1 have any ideas to what this might be? thanks alot guys.
