http://www.geocities.com/redredconv/van.html I purchased the van the end of August. I retired and wanted to do some traveling - I put 10,500 miles on the van in 6 weeks. Mechanically, the van has given me no problems and been totally reliable. The only things I have had done to it since I purchased it were 3 oil changes, replaced the charcoal canister (it had a recall notice), and had it detailed. I also replaced the back seat motor switch (got from manufacturer and was installed by an electrical engineer). I restrung 2 of the shades and they work like new.
Driving the van is like steering from your livingroom easy chair and even with 2 herniated disks, I had no back pain, even driving 18 hr days. Both my sons (27 & 25) have driven it and surprisingly, love it for the comfort factor.
Gas mileage varied from 14.6 mpg (50 mile headwinds in Ne & Wy foothills) to over 21 mpg and averaged just about 18 thru the whole trip.
The carpeting and seats are in decent condition - no tears or rips.
There is a rear fan for heat and AC - heat was great in the Rockies and AC worked like a charm in Death Valley.
When I bought the van, I was told that the engine was replaced at 60,000. However, it wasn't done by the seller or prior owner, so I can't vouch for the accuracy of the statement.
I pulled a Carfax before I bought the van - it was clean and I haven't had any accidents, incidents, etc.
Imperfections:
The exterior has some chips and dents. The major dent is in the back, but does not affect the doors, other than appearance. There is a paint scrape on the from driver's corner (visibile in the last pic) and it looks like a prior owner sraped the top - no damage other than paint scraped.
The carpeting is stained in places. I had it totally detailed in Colorado and the stains faded, but are still noticable.
The seats have no rips or tears, but are discolored.
I believe the vehicle is supposed to have keyless entry - there was no control for it when I bought the van.
So why I am I getting rid of it? I pay NJ insurance. I just 'retired'. I have 3 other vehicles and believe me, I'm not getting rid of the 69 Camaro! I am looking at going back to school fulltime to change careers and this includes school all next summer. I don't foresee having the time to do any traveling for a few years and can't justify keeping the van until I do.
$5600 or b/o
