Has anyone tried the E-85 in a 2002 BURB? if so what are your thoughts? what was the MPG? Is it ok to jump back and forth? The Burb is equipped with a 5.3 vortec with the LT package.

EVEN IF YOUR CAR IS SET UP FOR E85 U WILL GET LESS MILES PER GAL SO IN REALITY U WILL NOT SAVE ANY MONEY THIS IS JUST ANOTHER HYPE FROM AL GORES ENVIRMENTALISTS I'M FROM TN. AND DON'T BELIEVE NONE OF HIS BS CHECK BACK IN HISTORY GLOBAL WARMING IS NOTHING NEW I AGREE WE COULD USE CLEANER AIR BUT DO IT RIGHT AND KEEP AL GORE AND THE UNITED NATIONS OUT OF IT THEY WANT TO B OUR DICTATORS

I agree with you on the Al Gore BS...Here is my choices Reg. 3.09 per gallon(87-octane) or E-85 1.99 per gallon I must drive 9-10 miles to buy it is it worth it? Dave, you seem to always have good advice

THE LOCAL NEWS DID A STUDY HERE IN KNOXVILLE,TN AND THE E85 WAS 30 CENTS A GAL CHEEPER THAN THE REG 87 OCTANE AND THEY CHECKED THE FUEL MILAGE AND THE E85 COST MORE BUT U ARE GETING IT AT A DOLLOR A GAL CHEEPER SO IT MIGHT SAVE U SOME MONEY BUT U HAVE TO HAVE A FLEX FUEL VEHICLE OR U WILL RUN INTO PROBLEMS AND I THINK ITS A BOUT 1500 BUCKS TO SET ONE UP FOR E85 IF ITS NOT THAT WAY FROM FACTORY GOOD LUCK

like Dave said your Burb will drop in MPG when using e-85, it is a lot of hype, the money you save you will lose cause you will need to fill up more often, cleaner burning, maybe, but you need to burn twice as much.  trust me I sell them....even the hybrids....Hype man hype.....they are worse on gas tehn if you bought the same model in a regular gas car....they do save you in town when the engine is not running, but as soon as you go and the engine  kicks in, like on the highway, its the same milage if not worse, cause your dragging this big electric motor along for the ride, and you spend over 5000 bucks more for the hybrid.....well here they are anyhow...now the volt....thats the future, and the 2 mode tahoe

OK JUST GET A COUPLE OF EXTRA FUEL FILTERS BECAUSE THE E-85 WILL EAT THE VARNISH AND JUNK OUT OF YOUR TANK AND CLEAN IT SO IT MAY PLUG UP FUEL FILTERS GOOD LUCK AND KEEP ME POSTED

Wait, you are saying the Burb will get 1/2 the gas milage on E-85 as it would on 87 octane?

not half but it will be worse on fuel overall, you prolly will save some $$ but not what you thinking, if your getting say 20mpg  now for example you will drop to prolyl 16ish.....so the savings in offset by the worse milage......Its biggest thing is its way cleaner so your saving the enviroment....

but on that note to is it all hype, the process involved to MAKE E-85 is more polluting then using it in vehicles will ever save, so using it your actually making it worse.....by using it your letting them process more and making more pollution.....so really there is NO benefit to E-85

Its an enviromental hype, that is backfiring, but cant tell enviromentalits anything they know all.......
