driver's seat craziness....

New '07 Tahoe LTZ owner.  I find that no matter if I activate the "easy exit" feature or not, whenever I get in the driver's seat, it's about 6 inches closer to the steering wheel than when I last exited.  It doesn't slide back (which is what I thought it was supposed to do with "easy exit).  It slides way forward (making it a squeeze to get into the seat).  I'm not a big guy.....5'10"....180 lbs.  Is this right.

It doesn't seem to matter whether the "easy exit" feature is activated or not.

Any suggestions/solutions/advice?

Did you set your seat memory locations?

If someone accidentally set the seat memory to the "closer" postion then whenever you use the remote to unlock the door it sets it to the that postion.
Get in and set the seat position.  Then hit and hold the memory button on the door until it beeps.  It should remember that position.  It sounds like you already do, but check to see if you have the memory seat recall "on" in the DIC.  If so it will recall the saved setting.

Also be aware that each key fob is assigned a number 1 or 2 (used to be on the back).  So when you set Memory 1, you'll have to determine which fob controls that setting.

Good point, Shark.
I am the only one driving my Tahoe so I set both 1 and 2 to the same position  so I could grab either Fob.

Yeah, matching the number on the fob with the memory position is key (pun intended).   Initially, I set my memory positions on #1 and my wife set hers to #2, but our fobs actually reversed.  I should have set mine to #2 and hers to #1.

I miss the numbers on the back.  Guess they are ore simple to produce and supply without the numbers to worry about.

Thanks for the info.  I just happen to be using the correct FOB and did not realize each had its own.  Makes perfect sense.

Based upon how long the printed instructions on the back of mine lasted which was about a month, I guess it's a moot point whether or not they put the numbers on the back or not.

My wife's 2004 Tahoe still has the numbers and my ex-2002 TrailBlazer both still had the numbers and were still very readable.

They were molded into the fob itself.

Thanks all.  Those are all good solutions.  What I'm finding is that even when I "relearn" the remotes, they somehow "lose" their memory.  The DIC says I need new batteries in them.  Replaced those.  Now, it won't even go into relearn mode (no beeps when I press the lock/unlock buttons simultaneously).  Now, the remotes don't work at all (must lock/unlock with the key).

I think a trip to the dealer is in order.

Go to mygmlink and register.  You get access to an online owners manual plus other goodies.

Is this an LTZ feature?  I have the memory seats on my LT3, but the fobs are not numbered.

LT3, 1 week old, no numbers on my FOB's either.  There are numbers on my corvette FOB's though.

They WERE molded in the past.  That way they didn't wear off.  The last generation to be marked were "painted" on.  Now there are no markings at all.
