1995 Blazer S10.
Equipped with digtal instrument panel. all readings work fine except for the speedometer. The speedometer sometimes works showing the numbers on the display, and sometimes no numbers. What should I check? Is this a loose wire or a bad connection?

I also have problems with the brakes. The brake warning light is lit. If I pumps the pedal a few times the light will turn off, but after a short while it comes back on. The pedal is also a little bit slow on returning to relased position when I push it and let go. What can this be an indication on?

Thank you in advance for kind replies. Please excuse my poor language, beeing norwegian.

The digital instrument panels are known to have problems with intermittent contacts on their circuit boards.

The brake issue ... have you checked the fluid level in the master cylinder?

thanks. Seems like the brake warning light have gone. I filled up with brake fluid and pumped the pedal. The light went off. Then I had a heavy brake test to see if abs is working, and the light came on for a short moment. Ihave schedueld a check at a repair shop to see if the system is bleeding, or got air in the lines. They also mentioned internal leakage in main sylinder as a possibility.

As for the digital speedometer the local chevy dealer wanted to pull out the whole instrument and send it away to a specialist. Is that really neccesary, or can I do the soldering my self?

and thank you Golfer for your kind reply.

Which light came on ...the brake fault light or the ABS light ??

If the brake fluid was very low chances are you have air in the system which requires bleeding the brakes.
You have to ask why the fluid was low , there is a leak somewhere in the system. Likely problems are the rear brake wheel cylinders leaking , possibly front caliper seals leaking, split rubber flex brake hoses.

Absolutely , if you are confident and competent with a soldering iron and electronic circuits. The trick is to have a fine point solder tip ( no more than 40 watt) and a good magnifying lens. Although I'm not familiar with the 1995 model I had successfully repaired a 1992 model for the same problems you have. Also, clean all the contact pins so they are nice and shinny.

Good luck.
