I have read that 1996 suburbans do and don't have DRL's. If mine does, they don't work. Any definite answer on this?

The service manual shows that the 1996 Suburban does have DRLs. Do you have an indicator light in your instrument cluster?
If you go to
www.mygmlink.com and register your vehicle, you can view/download a user's manual.

What does it look like and where is it in the cluster? If it is set up with its own fuse, and it was pulled out to defeat it, would the indicator light still work?

Go to the link I gave you. Download the owners manual. The owners manual will show the cluster layout. Also in the manual, check out the fuses and relays locations in the IP fuse box and the under hood fuse box. The daytime running lights circuit has fuse and relay and maybe more.

They wan me to pay for the manual. Screw that. I already have the glovebox manual. It talks about the DRL's. Anybody know if it is a separate fuse? Which lights are supposed to come on? is it the yellow rectangular ones under the headlights? On my '96 Saturn SL2 the actual headlights come on.

CK UNDER HOOD AT FUSE RELAY BOX IT WILL TELL WHICH RELAY INSIDE COVER THEN SEE IF SOMEONE REMOVED RELAY SOME PEOPLE DO THAT BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT THEM BURNING

I did that and there is nothing for running lights or anything similar to that. The glove box manual shows it. I wonder if the trucks had them but not the Suburbans as they seem to lag a year behind in other "upgrades" too.
