Center Console for the 07 Tahoe LS owners

I was at the dealer today having some service done and while I was waiting, I decided to walk around the lot.  I noticed the 07 Silverado has a center console that actually has a lid on it, so the console can be flipped up without dumping everything in the console.  It appears to be the same size and connection to the jumper seat.  Has anyone tried this yet?  If not, I will be very soon.

thats the same thing i was wondering. i never asked if it would fit, but ill be at the dealer wednesday.

I noticed the same thing and according to the parts department yeah you can do a swap out with the silverado console.  It needs to be the later model from 2007 because I guess they had two out during the year.  I've been lookin on ebay had have yet to see one though...curious to know what the price would be straight from the dealership?

 We were at the state fair this past weekend and Chevy had a new model showroom set up, I noticed how the Silverado also has a second glove box above the glove box that the Tahoe comes with.  I really wonder why the Tahoe doesn't have that?

i jus came from the dealer and checked out the 2008 LS and the center console like the attachment nvcaman posted is standard.  this is gonna have to be #2 on my hitlist.

Did you find replacement console with cover? 

According to dealer here in Portland, OR console and center seat are sold as one piece for $700 for 08 model.  Anybody come up with different solution?

My dealership's parts department quoted me $300-somethin' for just the top part, but he couldn't promise that it'd be a direct swap... So I don't know for sure that it'd fit perfectly.

The dealership I use sucks though, so if someone has another answer, I'm listening, too. I don't trust Gateway Chevrolet with an oil change, let alone swapping out interior pieces.

I think the parts guy at Ron Tonkin was being straight, need to buy the whole center seat for an 08.  Going to try to fabricate something myself, piece of paneling with velcroe to hold it down.

gmpartsdirect.com had it listed at 296. check under 08tahoe.

Looks like center console and jump sit is different between 07 and 08. There is small storage under the jumper seat too. Also adjustable lumbar support is added to driver seat.

Will you post a link to where you saw the lid.  I looked all over gmpartsdirect and they didn't have any '08 parts for Tahoe's on there that I saw.  Thanks.

I just recently purchased a '07 Tahoe LS and want to replaced the center console for something with a lid.  Three different dealerships would not commit to saying if I could swap it with a '08 Tahoe console.  Has anyone found something that would work? Does the whole seat need to be replaced?  Which year and model?   Did the Silverado top console swap work??

I switched my LS center seat/console with a center console out of an LT and also changed the cloth to two tone leather.

Looks Great!  I'm going to do the same thing.  Were you ever able to get the rear controls to work?

where did you get the console and for how much?  I want the identical thing

I have not hooked up the rear audio controls.

where did you get the rear controls? Most of the ones I've looked at on ebay don't have any included and there is just a hole left.

Did you find replacement console with headlight covers? 

Whats the name of the seller I wasnt able to view the item at an earlier time. How I wish I could know the sellers contact infos.

I''ll have to look thru my paperwork to see if I can find the seller. I did a daily troll on ebay for a couple of months before I found one.
