Cadillac Smart Key

My Key FOB is pretty worn down and I was curious if the cadillac FOB could be programed for use with my 07 tahoe.  I was interested in the one I saw on ebay...below is the link to it.

The Cadillac Smart Key cannot be made to work with the Tahoe, the smart key is designed to be used on Cadillac vehciles equipped with push-button (keyless) start.

So even though I also have the remote start on my tahoe it still won't work?
Basically is the cadillac smart key purely for cadillac vehicles?
