When I boughtmy 2000 Z71 the brakes squeaked,so i put some more on it and it stopped. But,now they are back. Does anyone know why its doing this and how to get it to stop for good.  I know its not the tabs on the brakes.

Probably rust build-up on the rotors. If you have enough thickness, get them turned. If not, just throw some new ones on

just about every thing has metalic or semi metalic brake pad's and  when you drive on them for a while ,the rotor's will flash rust especially when it is damp or winter time .and generally when you apply them a couple times it scrub's the rust off them, it's ok .if it does it all the time i would say the pad's are glazed ,they rotor's need to be turned or replaced , make suure they put a non directional surface on the rotor's ,good quality oem style semi metalic pad's ,and break them in correctly ! check with the manufacturer of the pad's ,or you owner's manual .i do not know how many people actually read it ,it has a lot of useful information in it .
