Aftermarket modification numbers? HP/TQ/MPG

Just wondering if anyone has any hp/tq/mpg numbers after modifications? I purchased a Gtech SS, showed numbers for 0-60 @ 6.86 1/4mile @14.76. I don't think HP is right, since it read 502 and TQ at 571 ft/lbs. Did a reset on the MPG and showed an increase from what it used to be...gain of 2 mpg. Anyone else?

I got a G-Tech Pro also but haven't had time to set it up. It sounds like getting the initial mounting correct is key to getting accurate readings tho. I certainly would question Hp numbers higher than 320 w/o any mods. Those kind of readings (if accurate) should yield a better ET than 14.76. Will let you know what I get when I get it set up.

That must be the device that Dodge uses to come up with their erroneous HP numbers.

Could be. Don't follow Dodge much. Hadn't heard that they were fooling with their numbers.

Yeah I have to reset the settings b/c of the G's are off once in awhile. I did however get one reading before the exhaust was put on, the HP was 310 and the TQ was at 390 ft/lbs. I thought that was pretty close to what I should get. I am still waiting to get on a 1/4 mile stretch (flat) to get a more accurate reading. Those readings earlier were from a stand still, but making a right turn (from a stop sign) then going up hill, so I am guessing the G's factor into the equation. Not sure though, that is when I had those readings this evening. Shark let me know what you get. The Gtech is a neat gadget, but would like to get the truck on a dyno along with the GTECH and see if they match.

What is this Gtech?
Has anyone purchased the Superchips 2815 or a cold air intake kit for their 2007? What do you think?

Biglg,
Go to Gtech Pro website. I think it is
www.gtechpro.com Pretty neat gadget. I have it plugged into my tahoe. I have the Gtech Pro SS. Take a look. I think someone has the superchips flashpaq (friscokid) maybe. I hope to get one at the end of the month when I get some cash.

By the way I do have the air raid CAI. I reset my MPG and looks like I increased 2 MPG when I don't mash on the pedal, of course. Even then it doesn't go down to what it used to be.

Dark One,
Thanks for the reply. I want to get the superchips also, it was the best mod I put on my hemi ram truck. I have seen them on ebay for around $365 with best offer option.
As for the CAI I think i will go with the volant to keep the filter enclosed for sound. I know some of you have said that aftermarket open air CAI on this 07 tahoe doesnt make any noise, however every open air filter i have had makes all kind of noise when accelerating! Thanks.

You got the right WEIGHT programmed in?

Yeah the weight I put in was 7000. Biglg I did see the volant system, the only thing is that I didn't want the intake tube to extend down to the bottom. Here in Texas I go hunting a lot and sometimes go thru some low water crossings. I don't want to suck in any water. I wish they made a good looking aluminum tube for the Air raid....oh well. Yeah I have a buddy here that can get me the superchips at cost which I think maybe at 350. Ebay sounds good just don't know what I would be getting, since the program is downloaded from the internet to the flashpaq after you get it....then downloaded into the Tahoe. Who knows what you get from ebay, but of course I don't usually buy much from ebay.

7000 lb is close to the gross vehicle weight. Several sources I found say it is 5537 lb. I assume that's no passengers and full tank. I plan to use 5700 lb until I can get to a scale.

Shark,
Where did you see that the weight is 5537? If that is the case then I need to adjust the weight. That may be causing the high numbers

Yeah that's why I mentioned it. Saw it in several different writeups in newspapers.
I would expect that if the G-Tech thinks you are pulling an extra 1300 lb, then it would give you a higher hp and torque reading.

The GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) of my 4x4 is 7300. That's the most it is rated to carry and the actual weight is going to be way less.
Car and Driver listed their LTZ 4x4 at 5840lbs

Did they indicate if that included any passengers?

No, that's the vehicle weight!

Well I adjusted my vehicle weight and tried it out. I didn't exactly get a straight away, but I did get numbers for 0-60 along with HP/TQ. 0-60 @7.48 sec HP- 350 and TQ- 402 ft/lbs. I think that sounds better.

Appreciating that the brochure is not a great technical resource, you can get a good idea of empty vehicle weight by subtracting max load from gross vehicle weight.

Agree. Haven't read all of the inst. yet but do they mention if the hp figure is rear wheel? I would think it would be based on how they derive it.

The curb weight of the 2007 Tahoe max’s out at 5,535 lbs for a loaded LTZ 4X4 with all the goodies.
Deduct 226 lbs if for a 2WD version.
A 2WD LS without any extra has a curb weight of 5,293 lbs
Curb weight include all oil, coolant and a full tank of fuel but no pax or cargo.
Hope this helps you guys get your calibrations set correctly.

Thanks for verifying. For once the brochure was pretty close.
