I've read the other forums on the cavalier not starting but they didn't help me with this. I turn the  key in the ignition to on and the lights come on and everything, but when I turn to start everything flat out dies as if the battey loses all it's power suddenly. I just bought a new battery with plenty of cold cranking amps, howeve when this happens I can charge the battery and that seems to work. So I think it's an electrical leak in my car somewhere, but someone mentioned the fuseable link or something might be the problem, but I don't know much about that. Could that fuseable link cause that problem? So, as far as I can tell it can either be an electrical leak, a faulty battery (even though it's new), maybe ice forming somewhere, fuseable link, or car thats tired of driving. any other ideas? oh and the alternator is new also, so that can't be it :(

So to see if I understand your problem .... you bought a new battery and it seems to drained when you try to start the car. You charge the battery and then the car starts.

Was this the reason for getting the new battery in the first place ?
Are you sure the alternator is working to charge the battery ?
If  the alternator is working properly then your assumption could be correct about something draining the battery.

you can check out the proceedure i posted in this link :http://www.chevroletforum.com/m_11221/tm.htm
