Does anyone have the superchips 2815 on their 2007 tahoe? What do you think? Is it worth it? Where did you get it and how much? Anyone have one for sale?

Are there other programmers that anyone has purchased for their 07 tahoe? Thanks.

I have one for my '07 Tahoe. I definitely gives the Tahoe more power and firmer shifting. It also removes the Top Speed Limiter among other things. I ran into a problem with mine once I installed it.....the engine pinged on full acceleration with higher RPMs. I contacted Superchips and they were very helpful. The tech said that they had not experienced any pinging during testing, BUT that because I live in California the 91 gas may not actually be like the gas everywhere else because of harsh emission regulations and additives to the gas. So he said that he would talk to the engineers and get back to me the next day. He did...he asked me to log on and download the newest file for the 2815 via Flashpaq.com.... I have not heard the ping since I downloaded the newest file to my Tahoe... I forget the website I bought mine from, but it was $480 ...I think.

That sounds great. Do you know if the pick up off the line is much better? What about acceleration from high speeds? I mean going about 70 and punching the gas is there a sig. diff.? I have the air raid system and the magnaflow exhaust now, thinking about getting the superchips flashpaq. Also do you have to use super or plus unleaded gas or can you use regular. By the way I hope to get one soon and I am getting it for cost.

Dark.... I notice that there is better response at higher speeds rather than off the line. When I first installed the programmer to the Tahoe (the Superchip recommended setting...engine and shifting) ...I was driving down the road about 35-40.......floored it...it downshifted and kicked itself in the a$$... My first response was Holy Sh!T...The tahoe took off. I was like a kid in the toy store. I actually decreased the shift settings because they were too strong for everyday driving.
You can use...91 or 87...they have settings for both. I use 91 octane, with Airaid intake, Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer, Jet Mass Air Flow Sensor, MagnaFlow Exhaust, and Daystar Coil Spacers.

wolf,

do you have any numbers as far as hp and tq? Did the MAF do anything before you installed the superchips? Reason I ask is b/c I have 4.10 gears and it takes off pretty quick, but I was wondering if it shifts any tighter, can't seem to burn rubber off the line. It might be the tires grabbing, but I don't know. DOES ANY ONE OUT THERE HAVE ANY DYNO NUMBERS.

Thanks for the info wolf.

Thanks for the info. I had the superchips flashpaq on my 05 hemi ram. It was very noticable also, mainly the firmer shifts and better throttle response.

However I had a lot of issues with mine for the hemi. They had it in their hands working on it more than I had it on my truck in a years time.

Any problems with the flashpaq for the 07 hoe? Can you change the tire settings with the 2815?

I have seen them on ebay for around 375 with make offer. I actually got a deal on the one for my hemi, i offered an ebay seller 300 and they accepted. However they never accepted anyone elses offer of 300, must have been an accident.

Thanks for the info and i will get one.

What CAI do you have? The full kit or just the filter? What is the item/part number?

Let me see what I can do I know that they run about 450+, I am getting one for about 100 less. That is the cost for the dealer that I am going thru. I went thru him to get my custom exhaust (magnaflow) for only 240..Here are the pics.

I have had 3 dodge ram hemis in the last 3 years. I have had a cold air intake on all of them.

How loud is the airaid box and filter? Is it noticably loud driving down the road?

As for the superchips 2815 there is one on ebay now with a buy it now for 346. Search superchips 2815 and check title and description.

ONE MORE THING. I CHECK THE NOTIFY ME VIA EMAIL WHEN SOMEONE REPLIES AND I NEVER GET AN EMAIL. WHAT THE HELL IS THE PROBLEM? ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE?

I actually hate the email thing, I get too many of them when someone posts a reply. One day I had about 20. I go to the forum to see what the new posts are..oh well. 346 seems like a great price. I don't know too much about ebay, I just don't know what I am getting when I order something like that... the programmer may have a stock program from another vehicle.

My Airaid box and filter make absolutely no noise.

thkwolf,

I had an airaid on one of my rams and it was loud with acceleration. It was only quiet or normal at constant RPM's. I cant hardly believe it is stock quiet. If so great, I want one. However I dont want to get it and hear it???

The Volant makes a CAI, but I think the down tube is too low which would suck up water from the bottom. Volant is pretty expensive. The air raid is not loud at all, I think I just can't hear it anymore b/c of the exhaust.

DarkOne,

You say you have exhaust. Do you know what size the tip of the factory exhaust is? I wouldnt mind putting on a stainless tip just for looks, wife hates loud exhaust so I cant do it. But the dirty looking factory tip is nasty, what size is that? 2.5 or 3?

Big-
I installed my Airaid before I had the exhaust installed. I have never heard so much as a peep from it. Unless you have super bionic hearing like the six million dollar man....I would say you are safe from intake sound with the airaid.

Biglg,

The tip that I first put on my tahoe was bought at PEP BOYS. It was a 3" tip, but I had to rig it to fit. The clasp inside the tip was too small, so what I did was put 2 small holes in the pipe and used the screws on the tip to hold it in place. Here is the pics of the tip before and after the exhaust. If you really like the anodized black you could just buy the tip. Either way it will look good.

Hey Darkone, what size tires and rims do you have? They look great. I currently have 20" Boss Motorsports 315's but I really like the look of yours. Are the tires Nittos? They kinda look like it. I have 285/50/20's. I've got a 2" spacer kit that should be here on Friday so hopefully I might be able to go a little larger. Maybe up to a 305.

I found a local shop here that I think is going to give me a similar setup to yours only in duals. Magnaflow mufflers and all. I don't like the look of them coming straight out the back. I told them I'd like to have them come out the stock location, only on both sides. Pretty much like yours.

Sorry for jacking the thread.

Digdug,

The wheels are ALBA wheels and the tires are Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/55/20. I did get a 2" leveling kit in front and I am glad I did b/c I don't like the nose dive look. I don't know if 305's will rub, just looks like they would if you turn and hit a bumb or something. The kit only makes it go higher but does really change the turning radius any. As for the exhaust I thought about making duals but then it would be more to make the bends to go around the spare under the truck which in turn would cost more.

No Jacking taken!

Darkone,

Are you in texas as your profile states? Your license plate resembled a Missouri plate, however it was hard to tell. I obviously am in missouri.

Thanks for the exhaust pictures.

One more thing, for anyone that wants exhaust I have never found better deals than what I always pay at www.performancepeddler.com. You can also get a code/password from them. Tell them you are a forum member and you will get discounts, and I believe they always had free shipping. I am not sure if they do as I havent purchased anything for a while. But check that site out, it is great and great pricing. NO I DONT WORK FOR THEM, LMAO!

Alright, then I'll contnue to jack away.

I still might go with a single, not sure yet. How much did it free up the engine with addition of the intake and the exhaust? Did you go up in size on the pipe? If it is adequate than I might just go single. With all the bends I'm not sure how much the extra exhaust would really help anyway.

Let's just go to the other topic site, so that there is no jacking. I guess we just lost track of the whole superchips thing.
